St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network (SLHHN), located in the Lehigh Valley region of Eastern PA, is currently searching for a Reimbursement Analyst II.

This position ensures reimbursement optimization through accumulation and maintenance of appropriate financial data, to be used in the preparation of third party cost reports and internal financial analyses for a multi-entity health care system. This position will undertake complex special projects aimed at identifying new revenue opportunities.

  1. Prepares annual Medicare, Medical Assistance, Blue Cross and CHAMPUS third party cost reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Maintains all data necessary to prepare and document each cost report, including detailed work-papers with proper referencing.
  3. Prepares and analyzes reimbursement projects, including the following: financial analyses, response to audit adjustments, review of interim and final settlements, rate reviews, appeals, re-openings, exception requests, re-basings, etc.
  4. Interfaces with attorneys, consultants, external auditors and fiscal intermediary personnel on reimbursement and compliance issues, including the following: special projects, field audits and desk reviews.
  5. Prepares simulated cost reports to estimate the reimbursement impact of audit adjustments, amended filings, appeals, reopenings and mergers.
  6. Prepares supporting analyses to be used in the preparation of the annual revenue budget.
  7. Expert knowledge on current and proposed Medicare regulations.
  8. Drafts presentation documents regarding reimbursement analyses and assessments for Executive Management, including up to the Entity Presidents.

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least three years of progressive hospital reimbursement experience including preparation of Medicare, Medical Assistance and Blue Cross cost reports.

COMMUNICATIONS: Good written and oral communication skills required. Frequent contact with auditors, supervisors, and department heads.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours at a time). Frequently uses fingers for typing, data entry, etc. Frequent use of hands. Uses upper extremities to rarely lift up to 10 pounds. Rarely stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony.
